Jacksonville company researching treatment for COVID-19; how you can participate in study

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — East Coast Institute for Research, a Jacksonville-based company, is researching a treatment for COVID-19 by using the experimental antibody cocktail given to President Donald Trump on Friday after he tested positive for the virus.

The company has teamed up with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals to help uncover the scientific advances of Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody that has shown promise in fighting the infection.

The Jacksonville company is the only clinical research company in northeast Florida that is working with Regeneron to investigate this COVID-19 therapy.

Local researcher Dr. Jennifer Hardy said if you live in a household with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 96 hours, you may be eligible to participate in the study.
