Jacksonville girl named 2016 Miss Teen of Florida

Alonna Turner, daughter of Alonzo Turner and Alishia Moore and granddaughter of Allen and Sallie Moore of Jacksonville, was crowned Miss Teen of Florida 2016, at the Miss Teen of Florida Pageant held May 13-15, 2016 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Birmingham, Ala.

As the new Miss Teen of Florida, Turner receives a $1,000 cash scholarship, a $250 donation toward a Special Olympics inclusion event to be held in her school, and a chance to vie for the Miss Teen of America national title worth more than $20,000 in scholarships and prizes.

She may also be able to attend civic, charity, or speaking events throughout the state and nationally.

Turner is a 10th grade student at Robert E. Lee High School and has future ambitions of becoming an attorney.
