Jacksonville man offers $6,000 reward for stolen semi truck

A Jacksonville man is offering a $6,000 cash reward for the return of his stolen semi truck.

Joshua Garrison took to Facebook Monday morning after he discovered a thief stole his $80,000 semi truck from outside his family business.

The red 2005 Peterbilt was parked inside a locked gate at Miranda Contracting LLC's construction yard on W. Beaver Street. Garrison said the truck was the only one they had, forcing them to use another vendor to get their deliveries made.

The truck is a single cab with "Miranda Contracting" and "US DOT 1464355" in white lettering on the doors.

"We had four or five stops planned [Monday] for the rig," Garrison said. "Now, we're up a creek."

Garrison said an employee got to work at 5:50 a.m. and saw that it was missing.

It appears a thief cut the lock to the gate and hot-wired the truck, which the family uses to transport construction equipment to job sites.

"it makes us irate that someone would roll up and steal something we worked so hard to purchase," Garrison said. "It's got to be a professional. Someone that's a mechanic."

Garrison said a trailer was attached to the truck but the thief -- or thieves -- disconnected it and left it at the yard.

He was initially offering a $3,000 cash reward for the return of the truck but has since increased it to $6,000.

"No questions asked," he wrote on Facebook. "Sell them out and get your green-cash."

He's asking anyone with information to call (904) 388-1121 extension 301.
