Families said an early morning shooting in their East Arlington neighborhood Thursday, was just the latest in a string of problems on the same property.
Investigators say a man was shot in the chest on Monty Lane, and transported to a local hospital.
“What the hell is going on over there and when is it going to end?” neighbor John Chevier questioned.
It was the second time in a week families on the street saw flashing lights at the property.
Last week a fire damaged a trailer at the address.
In December 2017 flames destroyed another home on the property.
Neighbors we spoke to said they fear the people who live on what’s become known as ‘the compound.’
“When you knocked on the door I had my gun in my hand when I opened the door,” Chevier said.
JSO call for service records show officers have responded to the property nearly 20 times.
“I’d like to see the city shut the property down, condemn it,” demaneded Chevier.
The City of Jacksonville said code enforcement is in the process of going through bids to get the property cleaned up.
