Officers were dispatched to the 7200 block of Normandy Boulevard, which is east of Interstate 295, around 2:50 p.m.

Police were told that a person in a burgundy-colored Jeep pointed a gun at an occupied school bus while it was stopped at a bus stop near Lane and San Juan avenues. The school bus had nine middle and high school students and two adults on board.

JSO said no one was shot and no one was injured during the incident.

The person drove away going northbound on Lane Avenue, police said, and the SUV was found at a nearby apartment complex.

JSO said the Jeep was reported stolen outside Jacksonville.

The person suspected of pointing the gun was later found and taken into custody, police said.
