JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE, 5:57 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirms the search for a child on the Southside is over -- because the child was never missing.
New information shows the caller who reported the missing kid was mistaken and the child was safe with family the whole time.
UPDATE, 5:23 p.m.: A source tells Action News Jax that the missing child has been found safe.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 4-year-old near Beach and Beachwood boulevards.
A person called the Action News Jax newsroom and said they saw a lot of police in the area.
This area is near the Action News Jax newsroom and helicopters could be heard over our studios.
