"Lately, there [has been] an esvalation of instances inside the church with people coming in, being disruptive during mass [and] quite frankly it's become a concern of people who attend," Chris LaDuke, a church member, said.
Police are working to identify the man and find the person who pulled the trigger.
Action News Jax watched LaDuke and other families walk past police tape on their way into Sunday mass. He is asking for increased police patrol during this time.
“I hope this is a wakeup call for everybody,” LaDuke said. “I don’t know what the answers are, we certainly don’t want to discriminate. We want to be charitable, but at the same time there should be a priority to protecting the people who are attending mass here.”
