Jacksonville teen injured in 'drive-by' shooting, JSO says

A teen was shot Tuesday in an apparent drive-by, according tot the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the 16-year-old boy was shot in the street in the 2200 block of Fairfax Street around 3:54 p.m.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found the teen suffering from non-life threatening injuries gunshot wounds.

The teen was taken to a nearby hospital where he is receiving treatment.

JSO said they are unclear at this time if the shooting was targeted or random.
