JSO arrests suspect related to unsolved homicide

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — After over two months, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced that it has identified and arrested a suspect connected to a Dunn Ave. shooting in January.

In the early morning of Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, JSO and JFRD responded to 1106 Dunn Ave. in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man in a vehicle suffering from what appeared to at least one gunshot wound.

JFRD transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, but the man died upon arrival at the hospital.

Over the past two months, JSO detectives have been working to identify a suspect, and have finally identified the suspect through investigative efforts.

Keith Avery Keglar, Jr. was arrested Saturday through an arrest warrant and is accused of murdering the victim of the Dunn Ave. case.
