JSO: bullet hits child in arm off Gate Parkway

Jacksonville, Fla. — A child suffered a gunshot wound to the arm just off Gate Parkway Friday night, police say.

Investigators say the shooting happened in the 4800 block of Deer Lake Drive East. The child was in the car with their mother at the time of the shooting, and JSO said early evidence suggests the shooting was not accidental.

The juvenile was transported to a nearby hospital.
