JSO investigates multiple shootings, fatality overnight in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating multiple shootings overnight in Jacksonville.

The first shooting occurred around midnight in the 10600 block of East Pine Estates Road where police said Jennifer Renee Embree, 37, was found dead from a gunshot wound.

Police also found a man with multiple gunshot wounds who was taken to UF Health.

According to police, the initial investigation reveals there were several people at the residence when the shooting occurred.

JSO said it does not yet have information on the suspects, and is asking for anyone with information to contact them.

JSO also responded to a report of someone shot in front of a business at 1553 S. Lane Ave. around midnight.

When police arrived they found an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in critical, but stable condition.

JSO is investigating and working to identify the victim.
