Shooting near Jaguars Stadium leaving one dead and one injured, according to JSO

Police tell Action News Jax a man is dead and another man is in critical condition after two or more suspects opened fire on A. Phillip Randolph.

The shooting happened in nearly the exact same location as an October shooting in which six were shot and an elderly man was killed.

“Probably about 15-20 gunshots basically,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified.

The neighbor tells us they heard an argument, then gunshots, and the sound of a car speeding away from the area.

Police tell us they responded to the intersection of A. Phillip Randolph and Pippin around 6:33 PM.

They say the victims were in or around a white Chevrolet car on APR at the time of the shooting. JSO says they have yet to identify the suspects.

“I got grandchildren I’m trying to raise, and they can’t even go in the yard because don’t know when somebody’s going to come out here and act like an idiot and start shooting,” said another neighbor.

Officers worked into the night to collect evidence. Our crew saw at least a dozen evidence markers in the road. Police tell us there were no witnesses, and they’re working collect any surveillance video of the incident. Neighbors say they’re desperate for change.

“It’s ridiculous they need Jesus in their life,” said a neighbor. “And put down the guns! ‘Cause guns don’t solve nothing. Go back to the old days, just have a fist fight! And maybe the best man wins.”

JSO says they need your help in identifying or locating these suspects. They’re asking anyone with information to come forward.
