JSO looking for assistance finding the Gate Parkway shooter

GATE PARKWAY, Fla. — Officers responded to a shooting Friday night on the Jacksonville Southside.

STORY: 1 dead and another critically injured after Philips Highway crash

JSO was initially sent to Sola Apartments in response to a report that shots had been fired. Upon arrival, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound.

JSO says the man they found was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he did not make it and succumbed to his injuries.

STORY: Prostitution arrests made in Atlantic Beach

Homicide and crime scene detectives are currently investigating the matter and are looking for suspects.

Right now, detectives are working to identify the victim.

JSO is also canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses.

According to JSO Crime Mapping Program, there have been 10 reported crimes within a half mile of this location. The majority of these instances were theft related.
