JSO: Man shot dead getting out of his car in Oakleaf area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that a man was shot dead this Sunday at 7100 Beekman Lake Dr. in the Oakleaf area.

At approximately 4:20 a.m., police responded to multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a young man of roughly 19 to 20 years old riddled with gunshot wounds.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Early investigation confirms that the man was shot as he was exiting his car at a residence in the area.

Investigators do not believe the incident is related to other weekend shootings in the area.
