Jacksonville Officer arrested after night at gentleman's club

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported an arrest of a JSO officer, who is a five and a half year veteran of the department.

JSO said Officer Rodney Bryant was involved in a dispute Friday at Mascara's Gentlemen's Club with his girlfriend and her friend.

According to JSO, the group left the club but the dispute continued in a vehicle. This was when Bryant allegedly pulled over, opened the trunk of his vehicle and pulled out a firearm.

Bryant allegedly pointed the gun at the two women, making threats, according to JSO.

They were all pulled over long enough for the girlfriend's friend to make contact with her sister, who later arrived at the scene, according to JSO.

JSO said the girl's sister observed Bryant with the firearm making threats and that he pointed the firearm at her.

Bryant has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Bryant has been terminated from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

This is the first arrest of a JSO officer for 2019. According to JSO, there were nine arrests of its officers in 2018.
