JSO has announced VIA twitter that Cathy Adams passed away within the last hour.

ORIGINAL STORY: 

A couple and their children were traveling north on I-95 in St. Johns County when a 2010 Acura collided with them early Sunday around 1:15 a.m..

William Adams, 50, lost control of the family's Chevy Tahoe and overturned, ejecting the passenger, Cathy Adams, 43, and entrapping the driver.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, the children sustained minor injuries, while the adults are still  in critical condition at Memorial Hospital as of 5:20 p.m. on Sunday.

"This is not a fatal crash," Master Sargeant Dylan Bryan.

According to an Action News Jax source, William is an officer and Cathy is a bailiff with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. JSO confirmed this Sunday evening in a tweet.

Cathy remains on life supports, according to a tweet by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The driver of the Acura, Kim Johnston, 46, was placed under arrest for two counts of driving under the influence with seriously bodily injury to another.
