The Jacksonville Sheriff's office is searching for a man who is armed and accused of sexual battery in the Springfield area near W. 8th Street.
The suspect is described as black with a mustache and wearing a light yellow polo shirt with blue jeans.
Police said the man approached the female victim with a box cutter and forced sexual intercourse before fleeing towards 7th Street.
Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
