Update: JSO located woman thought to be abduction victim

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has located a woman thought to have been abducted early Sunday by her ex-boyfriend.

Police say they located Amy Dugger Beverly, 30, safe. They still want to speak with her ex-boyfriend Joaquin Javier Gonzalez, also 30, about what transpired between them.

Police say Gonzalez went to Beverly's home early Sunday and got into an altercation with her and her new boyfriend.

The suspect and the new boyfriend fought inside the residence before both went outside, according to a statement released by JSO.

The victim reportedly went outside and confronted the suspect as he was vandalizing the boyfriend's motorcycle and her home with a bat.

Witnesses told police the suspect led the victim to his vehicle and the two drove away from the area.

Ben Doles, a neighbor, says the commotion woke him early Sunday morning.

"[She was] Screaming, 'Help me, leave me alone,'" Doles said. "She said that this relationship is over, you need to go home, I've moved on. He just wouldn't take it.

"He punched her in the face one time. I know for a fact. He ran after her, grabbed her by the collar [and] forced her back to the truck."

Police say it's unclear whether Beverly went voluntarily with Gonzalez, adding that she has not returned home and attempts to contact the two have been unsuccessful.

They may be in a 2004 white Dodge Ram pickup truck with Florida tag GWUR16.
