7 arrested in West Jacksonville homicide; suspects gave information on other homicides

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Seven arrests have been made in connection with a West Jacksonville death investigation, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Keith Thompson was found dead April 27 in the back yard of a home in the 1000 block of East Westbrook Circle.

Detectives identified four people through surveillance video: Keith Dion Jackson, 25, Chyron Horne, 22, Lewis Rayshard Braclet, 24, and Brandon O'Neal Roundtree, 24.

Police arrested Horne May 4 in Jacksonville.

Assistant Chief of Investigations Scott Dingee said detectives learned that the other three men left the area and went to Lakeland, Florida. Police didn't find them there and learned that they went to Hardeeville, South Carolina, where police once again missed the three men.

The men went to a trailer park in Gaston, South Carolina. Dingee said they were hiding with relatives.

JSO apprehended Jackson, Braclet and Roundtree at about 8 p.m. Wednesday with the assistance of the FBI, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Gaston P.D. and the Lexington County Sheriff's Office.

Dingee said detectives have spoken with the three men, who gave information about the death of Thompson.

JSO said it is believed that Thompson was killed because he stole drugs and money from Jackson and Braclet. The victim and all the suspects all know each, JSO said.

The investigation into the death of Thompson is still ongoing.

JSO also arrested three others in connection with the investigation: Shani Holmes, Aleisha Henley and Teia Richardson. Police charged the women with providing false information to law enforcement. JSO said it anticipates additional arrests to be made.

Dingee said Jackson, Braclet and Roundtree gave information about as many as seven other homicides in Jacksonville in the last year to year in a half. Dingee said he couldn't comment further on the homicide investigations.
