Last minute 4th of July preps made downtown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The tents are up, vendors are doing last minute prep work -- and the fireworks show is just a few hours away.
"We're excited. We come from a small town so we're excited seeing different stuff," Kimberly Whigham said.
The Landing will be a hub for downtown events. Some restaurants have even brought In extra staff.
"We've been preparing all week. Anticipate a big, big crowd tonight," Tracy Jones with Vino's Restaurant said.
In addition to fireworks over the river, the Hyatt Hotel is also hosting a 4th of July party. We found a caterer hard at work, preparing.
"Going to have some music and fun up and down the Riverwalk and over in the shipyards," Elaine Williams said.
No matter what your age or event choice, the City of Jacksonville believes it will have something for everyone Friday. In fact, Williams said if you aren't downtown, you're missing out.
"This is something we do every year. It's a very good event. Everyone who ever came out here enjoyed. The fireworks are awesome. We have some of the best fireworks in the country," she said.

The downtown fireworks show starts at 9:45 p.m.
