Surveillance video from The Bar with No Name shows moments after St. Augustine shooting

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Action News Jax reporter Alicia Tarancon got surveillance video from The Bar with No Name that shows the moments after Tuesday morning's shooting in St. Augustine.

In the video, someone appears to be running away from the area just after shots were fired.

The gunman is still on the loose, according to police.

Jayson Befort has been working in downtown Saint Augustine for 5 ½ years. 
He's the general manager of The Bar with No Name and he says shootings in this historic district are rare.

“No shootings ever like this, ever before,” said Befort.

The Saint Augustine Police Department says shots rang out just before 1 a.m.

Police tell us while no one was shot, two people were hit by shrapnel, but they weren’t seriously hurt.

Police tell us while no one was shot however  two people were hit by shrapnel, but they weren’t seriously hurt.

Befort says his business’ surveillance camera caught the aftermath of the shooting.

In the video, you can see a person wearing a hoodie running past the front of the bar.

The general manager of the bar told us  the shooting happened just outside right across the street from the Castillo de San Marcos which attracts hundreds of visitors each day.

Tarancon also talked to one couple who came from Orlando.

“We’re looking forward to walking around here tonight,” said John Corbett.

Corbett is staying in downtown St. Augustine with his wife, Sharon.

He says even a shooting can’t stop him from celebrating his wife’s birthday.

“We’ll take our chances, like most people around here today,” said Corbett.

Befort says downtown St. Augustine is usually a quiet area filled mostly by visitors.

“Just like any other town, it’s a tourist town, a walking town,” he said.
