Mail delivery problems in MuraBella worry neighbors, USPS working to resolve issues

People in one St. Johns County neighborhood are describing their mail delivery issues as quote "ridiculous" and "crazy."

Action News Jax Courtney Cole reports on the missing letters, swapped mail, and disappearing packages happening almost daily.

"I'm afraid to send off my wedding invitations at this mailbox, because I don't know what's going to happen to them!" exclaimed Garrett Stroup.

Stroup said he and his neighbors have been having major issues receiving their mail.

"Missing mail, missing packages, getting neighbors' mail,” Stroup told Action News Jax.

He said they've been having to deal with this for the last six to eight months.

Another neighbor told us she feels like a lot of her mail is missing.

"I go days without getting any mail, which is highly unusual,” said Kristin Shaver.

Stroup said it’s not just the mail, it's the packages they're worried about, too.

In fact, he said his mother is one of the people who never received one of hers.

“She was supposed to receive a package from Belk, it was a sweater. She called USPS, they said they're tried to look for it, but it wasn't insured so she's outta luck,” said Stroup.

Neighbors told Action News Jax Courtney Cole they’re  concerned their mail and packages won't even make it to them this holiday season.

Neighbors say they've reached out to the U.S. Postal Service, but it hasn't seemed to help.

"The answers have been a bunch of random things like: They're contract employees, we can't do anything about this. This package wasn't insured, sorry, you're out of luck!" Stroup said.

When Action News Jax  Courtney Cole reached out to the Southern Area Corporate Communications Specialist for USPS, she received this response:
