Man accused in Blind Rabbit shooting death enters plea

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The man charged in the murder of a Blind Rabbit employee entered a not guilty plea Thursday morning.

Erron Coleman is accused of killing Daniel Rowe behind the Riverside restaurant in July 2015.

Shackled and with his head down, Coleman faced a judge and the parents of Daniel Rowe for the second time. He didn’t say a word and showed little to no emotion.

“It’s a flood of emotions right now,” said Raelyn Rowe, Daniel Rowe's mother.

Raelyn Rowe tried to contain those emotions Thursday morning, as she heard Coleman enter a plea of not guilty in the murder of her son.

“We’re hurt, we’re angry.  We just want justice at this point, but none of that will bring back our son,” said Rowe.

Police say Coleman shot and killed the young father of two behind the Blind Rabbit, before robbing him while Rowe was taking out the trash in July of last year. It took a year for police to arrest Coleman for the murder.

“I believe JSO has done their job well. I believe the State Attorney’s Office is doing their job to their full capability. I believe it may take a little time, but I believe at the end, we will find justice for Daniel,” said Raelyn Rowe.

Daniel Rowe's father Steven now wears a pin every day. He says it’s a simple, yet powerful reminder.

“It represents who he was, the black and red was just the victim, but the bicycle is what he did, is what he loved. It makes it a little bit easier, knowing I’m carrying a piece of him with me,” said Steven Rowe.

His parents say they will be at every court appearance for Coleman. A  pretrial hearing is set for August 25.

Police are still looking for a second suspect in this case.
