MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Michael Jones is now being charged with four counts of first degree premeditated homicide for the deaths of his two children and two stepchildren, the Marion County Sheriff's Office announced Monday. The state is seeking the death penalty in the case.
Jones is also facing dozens of years behind bars for killing his wife, Casei Jones.

Jones was arrested on Sept. 15 in Brantley County, Georgia, where he told officers on scene that his wife's body was inside the van he had just crashed.
He later told detectives where the bodies of his two children and two stepchildren were located.
Investigators believe he killed his wife and four children six weeks before he was arrested.
They add that they believe he has been driving around with their bodies for the last two to three weeks.
"These bodies were decomposed." Sgt. Paul Boom with the Marion County Sheriff's Office explained at a news conference Wednesday. "We all want to know why and try to make sense of a senseless act, and I can tell you whatever excuse he will give -- of any reason why -- it's not gonna be enough"
