JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Hugo Baumann-Arguello, 21. He is facing murder charges after two people were shot at The Plaza Apartments on Thursday, July 18, JSO says.
A man and a woman were located lying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where the man died from his injuries.

JSO Communications received a telephone call from a man stating he shot someone who had tried to rob him with a gun. Investigation revealed suspect Baumann-Arguello had gone to the location for a pre-arranged meeting with the victim for a drug transaction, according to the police report.
During the drug transaction, the man attempted to reach into the vehicle to take drugs from Buamann-Arguello’s lap. The suspect responded by discharging a gun at the man, striking him several times and stiking the woman one time, police said.
Witnesses were interviewed and no one observed anyone with a firearm other than suspect Baumann-Arguello. The suspect was arrested on charges of murder, aggravated battery and armed possession of drugs.
