Jacksonville business owner in Mandarin accused of fraud: ‘I take full responsibility'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The owner of a Jacksonville contracting company is owning up after accusations were made that he took customers’ insurance money and didn’t finish the work.

“I take full responsibility for the things that I’ve done wrong,” said Wyatt Paul Green, owner of Storm Restoration Specialists LLC.

Green has been charged with fraud, forgery and grand theft.

He told Action News Jax he turned himself in to police last week.

“I fully intend to make it right with the customers. If there was money owed, I fully intend to pay it,” said Green.

He’s accused of stealing more than $40,000 from four local homeowners.

Florida’s Chief Financial Officer said detectives found Green directed his employees to forge customers’ signatures on checks and construction documents, and forge mortgage lenders’ endorsements.

The CFO said Green and his employees bought 58 false bank endorsement stamps online.

“I didn’t instruct them to do anything, no,” said Green.

Action News Jax asked Green if he forged any documents.

“I’m not going to say anything at this time about that,” said Green.

Green was wearing a Rogero Roofing & Construction polo shirt.

Action News Jax found court documents that show Green filed a lawsuit against J. Rogero Construction last week, claiming the company misrepresented its assets during their merger five months ago.

The CFO called Green a “contractor,” but that’s not entirely accurate.

Although he owns a contracting company, state records show Green is not a licensed contractor.
