Mellow Mushroom helps Morrill family

Friends and family of motorcycle crash victim Jeff Morrill raised money at Mellow Mushroom Wednesday to help his family.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Friends and family of motorcycle crash victim Jeff Morrill raised money Wednesday to help his family.

All Jacksonville Area Mellow Mushrooms donated 10 percent of any check for people dining who mentioned they were there to help the Morrill family. 

Action News caught up with some of Morrill's friends and church members during lunch who say they just want to do anything to support Jeff's wife and their four children.  The fundraiser lasts until 2 a.m. Thursday morning at any of the three area Mellow Mushroom locations.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a Jeep hit Morrill on Aug. 19 around 5 p.m. near Main and 27th streets.  JSO arrested Carlton DeCosta in connection to the deadly hit-and-run.
