Middleburg 7-Eleven robbery: Clay County Sheriff's Office searching for suspect

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect who robbed a 7-Eleven in Middleburg on Nov. 2.

Watch the video on FOX30 at 8 a.m.:

The Clay County Sheriff's Office is hoping someone will be able to recognize the suspect in the video.

The video shows the suspect holding a gun to the worker's head and demanding money. He threatens her life the entire time and it was caught on camera.

In the video, the suspect can be heard screaming, "Open up the (expletive) safe, open it before I kill you."

Bill Maxwell goes to the 7 Eleven on County Road 220 every day, actually twice a day, to get a latte.

We showed him the video of the store associate getting robbed at gunpoint. He reacted, saying, "That's scary right there."

He adds, "That would've rattled me. I might not have come back to this job, especially overnight shift, you know?"

He along with other customers watched in disbelief.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office hasn't been able to indentify the suspect, but they're hoping someone will recognize him from the video.

We're told he's 5 feet, 3 inches tall, right-handed, and has a raspy voice throughout the whole video.

Customers say it's a little unsettling knowing he's still out there.

"It's kind of scary because it can happen again to anybody or any other store," explains local customer James Tate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Brad Dougherty at 904-213-6643.
