The report said Marsha Higgins sent someone a text message asking for help, kicking off the search for the woman out of Jacksonville Beach, where she was last seen. The couple was last seen at Whiskey Jax location in that area on Sunday.
The text message was straightforward and read: "Call the police. Tell them Brad has carjacked me with me in the car and is threatening to kill me."
Higgins allegedly went on to say they would be headed to Interlachen and described the car they are traveling in.
JSO first told the public to be on the lookout for her and her Toyota Scion on Wednesday night after they said she may have been carjacked and could be being held against her will by her boyfriend. On Thursday morning, JSO said the pair were in the Volusia County area Wednesday night. The silver four-door Toyota Scion had a new tag Tennessee tag: 1R99S1.
Action News Jax has learned the couple has ties to Tennessee. Higgins last address was in Knoxville.
