Most Disaster Recovery Centers in Florida closed for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday

The Disaster Recovery Centers throughout Florida, except for two, will be closed Monday, Jan. 16 for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The two locations that will remain open on that date are:

Seminole County

Seminole State College Blvd. C, 100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773

9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Putnam County

Putnam County Fairgrounds, 117 Yelvington Road, East Palatka, FL 32131

9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This location will close permanently at the end of the day on Jan. 16

Disaster Recovery Centers provide disaster survivors with information from Florida state agencies, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Survivors can get help applying for federal assistance and disaster loans, update applications and learn about other resources available.

There are several Disaster Recovery Centers operating throughout the impacted area. To find a center close to you, you can go online to: DRC Locator or floridadisaster.org, or you can text DRC along with your ZIP code to 43362

It is not necessary to visit a center to apply. Hurricane Nicole survivors can go online to disasterassistance.gov, use the FEMA mobile app or call 800-621-3362. The line is open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone, or another service, give FEMA the number for that service
