FHP: Passenger thrown off ATV in Nassau County, airlifted to UF Health with serious injuries

CALLAHAN, Fla. — Two people were thrown from an ATV after crashing into a fence in Nassau early Sunday, according Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the ATV, a 20-year-old male sustained minor injuries, FHP reported.

The passenger, an 18-year-old female was flown to UF Health of Gainesville with serious injuries, according to authorities.

They were riding the ATV on Old Dixie Highway, on private property.

FHP said the incident happened at 12:36 a.m. and it is unknown if either individual was wearing a helmet.

They are both from Callahan.
