Nassau women claim they are being targeted by aggressive salesmen

Destiny Bass said a salesman came to her front door with a pamphlet describing cleaning products he was trying to sell.

She said she took a picture because the man claimed it was his only copy.

“He was very pushy with the cleaning products and kept touching me,” Bass said.

She said he then made his way inside her home.

“They were clearly casing the home,” Bass said.

Bass’ roommate said he started asking for money and wasn’t taking no for answer.

“He is wanting to take what you have and he made that very clear,” Bass said.

The man also didn’t come in a company vehicle and they said he didn’t have any form of identification to prove where he worked.

“No badge at all, no ID at all,” Amy Battles said.

The product he was selling is Advanage 20G, not to be confused with Advanage 20X

A warning is posted to the company’s website stating that Advanage 20G is fake and is in violation of copyrights.

“He was not appropriate from the get-go, so I knew he wasn’t an actual salesman,” Bass said.

The Nassau County sheriff said they had received four calls concerning the salesmen on Wednesday.

“I didn’t feel safe,” Emma Scott said.

Scott said they came to her home, but she didn’t answer the door.

“He was pacing back and forth panting sweating,” Scott said.

The women said they believe they are being targeted and want others to be vigilant.

“He made us feel very uncomfortable and that is not OK,” Bass said.

Action News Jax also found warnings about aggressive salesmen, accused of using cleaning products to target homeowners in other states, including Oklahoma.

The Nassau County sheriff’s office already kicked one of the men out of the county for not having a permit.

Deputies are asking people to report any suspicious activity.
