JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - It's been almost six years since the shooting death of 22-year-old Amber Bass and now her case is about to get a nationwide spotlight.
Action News Jax has learned Amber's case will be featured on a popular true-crime series called "Breaking Homicide" on Investigation Discovery on July 22.
Amber's sister, Robin Lezcano Bass, is feeling hopeful and confident that the show will finally reveal some answers.
"Breaking Homicide" was renewed for a second season in October 2018. Its host, Derrick Levasseur, is a veteran detective and private investigator who focuses on cold cases.
Levasseur posted a photo on his Instagram where he’s seen leaving the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Next month will mark seven years since Amber was shot and killed after she was robbed on her sister's driveway on Springtree Road.
No one has been arrested for the crime.
The show's host says the reason they picked the cases they're covering this season is because he feels like he can do something to push them forward.
