New luxury multifamily community to be built in Nocatee

NOCATEE, Fla. — Construction on a new 312-unit Class A multifamily community in Nocatee will start in February.

Thompson Thrift will develop the community called Velara.

“Nocatee has been one of the country’s fastest-selling master-planned communities, and there is significant demand for luxury multifamily living options,” Josh Purvis, managing partner for Thompson Thrift Residential, said in a news release.

The community will feature three-story buildings offering studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom options.

It will have a fully equipped 24-hour fitness center, courtyards, a billiards area, an outdoor gaming area, a pickleball court, a dog park, and a pet spa with a grooming station.

Residents are expected to be able to move in during the summer of 2026.
