Patriot Oaks Academy student posts Columbine attack pictures on Snapchat; threat not credible

St. Johns County School District

No credible threat was found after pictures of the 1999 attack and shooting at Columbine High School were posted to the Snapchat page of a Patriot Oaks Academy student, school officials said.

Officials from the St. Johns County School District said the issue was addressed with the student and law enforcement was involved.

There was no disruption to the school and no students were in harm's way, a district spokesperson said.

Principal Emily Harrison said in a phone and email message to parents that a parent and students reported the "disturbing message."

Here is the full text of the message Harrison sent to parents via phone and email:

"This morning a parent and students reported a disturbing message posted to a Snapchat story. We worked with law enforcement to fully investigate this matter and determined no credible threat to the school, students or staff at any time. We are operating a normal school day. I appreciate your continued support as we responded to and assessed this situation."
