Northeast Florida educators surprised by signs to kick off teacher appreciation week

FLORIDA — Northeast Florida educators were surprised with signs to kick off this year’s teacher appreciation week.

May 4 through May 8 is teacher appreciation week around the country.

Teachers at schools, including RJ Murray Middle School, and River City Science Academy, found signs in their yards recognizing them for their efforts amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Action News Jax reporter Ryan Nelson spoke to both Travis Brown, who is the principal at RJ Murray, and Joshua Bond, who is a teacher at RJ Murray, about the efforts to honor local educators.
