The writer of "One Binge," professor Alvenia Derban, said it is a problem she wanted to bring attention to.
“Binge drinking is a slippery slope, not just into alcoholism, but into poor life choices,” she said.
According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people ages 18 to 34 are the most likely to binge drink -- a demographic that encompasses the majority of college students.

Professor Daniel Henrich shot the movie on his iPhone.
“It’s about this girl, Clarissa, who basically drinks herself to death,” Heinrich said.
Jayda Williams, who plays Clarissa in the film, thinks binge drinking is often minimized on college campuses and warrants more attention.
“It’s a serious thing, but it’s so under the radar around college students and around adults,” Williams said.
