Our streak of dry, sunny days ending

Jacksonville, Fl — We hope you enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather this week, as our dry streak will end. Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh says a pattern change will turn to cloudy skies and multiple rain chances today through Monday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will arrive as early as this afternoon and possibly linger into the evening hours.

“Locally heavy rain the main threat with a few embedded lightning strikes and even a gusty wind with highs reaching the low to mid 80s today. So we’ll have some heating despite the cloud cover. But we’re not expecting widespread severe weather today”, Bedenbaugh said.

Friday will be cloudy with an isolated shower as a front moves to the south. Afternoon temperatures will be below average, in the mid-70s.

Saturday looks cloudy with on and off scattered rain, especially in the evening. It appears Sunday may be the day with more soaking rain or storms. The pattern remains unsettled into next week as well.

Rainfall totals could exceeded 1-2 inches through the weekend with locally higher amounts.
