The Palatka Police Department issued a statement Monday evening after an off-duty officer was arrested for allegedly driving drunk in a marked police car.
According to police, they received a call around 2:20 p.m. about a man at a Mobil gas station in a police car who appeared intoxicated and drove off.

Police said they found the police car parked at the old clock tower parking lot with off duty officer Ortese Cossio sitting in the driver seat and seemed drunk.
Palatka police called the Florida Highway Patrol for assistance in conducting a DUI investigation for transparency.
When FHP responded, they arrested Cossio for DUI, according to Palatka police.
Palatka Police Chief Jason Shaw said that he has placed Cossio on administrative leave pending an internal affairs investigation.
