Parents speak about new security measures at this seasons high school football games

Excitment tonight for the return of high school football. Thousands of people turned out tonight for dozens of games across the region, but safety is on the mind of school leaders.

Memories are still fresh from May when a teen was shot in the chest at the Terry Parker High spring football game. And nearly one year ago a 19-year-old was killed and two other students were shot at the game between Raines and Lee High schools.

Duval County games started at 6 p.m. -- the most dramatic of the safety changes for the new school year.
