JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol reported a 74-year-old man was killed while attempting to cross lanes of I-95 on Old St. Augustine Road Sunday evening.
FHP reports that at 6:05 p.m. a 74-year-old man was crossing lanes of I-95 at Old Kings Road south.
At this time a pickup truck was traveling south along I-95. A second pickup truck was parked and unoccupied on the shoulder of the road.
FHP reports the 74-year-old pedestrian then walked into the path of the moving pickup truck and was struck. The man was then thrown into the second vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
