People trapped inside burning bus saved by officials

Two people were rescued from a burning bus on Saturday.

Camden County Fire Rescue, the Kingsland Fire Department, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and the Kingsland Police Department all responded to the fire at Highway 40 and east of Browntown.

When officials arrived around 12:30 a.m. the bus was engulfed in flames, and two people were trapped inside.

The driver and passenger were rescued and taken to Shands Hospital, in Jacksonville, Fla.

They had non-life-threatening injuries, but the bus was destroyed.

The fire is still being investigated.
