A 19-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly torturing her girlfriend by shooting her repeatedly with a BB gun and making her drink hot sauce, according to a police report.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office began investigating after a woman got dropped off at the hospital with what appeared to be bullet wounds on July 9.
The victim initially told officers that she was shot with a shotgun in the parking lot of the Walmart on Beach Boulevard near Southside Boulevard.
She later told officers that her girlfriend, 19-year-old Kayla Leonard, caused her injuries.
According to a police report, the victim told officers that Leonard shot her in the neck with the BB gun at point-blank range then forced her inside a house.
She repeatedly shot her with the BB gun and at one point forced her to hold her hands out to be shot, according to the report.
The victim told police Leonard also forced her to get naked, ingest hot sauce and kneel in salt. She also shot her pet cat, according to the report.
The victim told police she was bleeding heavily so Leonard tried to clean her up in the shower.
The victim said she began to feel faint and asked to go to the hospital.
Leonard took her to the hospital and told her that she would kill her if she told police what happened, according to the report.
Leonard refused to answer the door when officers came to her house on Ashglen Drive.
They found her hiding in a closet after they forced their way inside, according to the report.
Officers also found several BB guns and bottles of BBs in her bedroom. There were bloody pieces of clothing in the washing machine and cleaning supplies in the trash.
BBs were scattered around the house and there were several holes in the blinds and walls, according to police.
Leonard told police that she did not hurt the victim. She said three men hurt the victim after she stole marijuana from them.
Leonard was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, cruelty to animals, violation of probation and failure to appear.
