Police: Lake City woman arrested after teen found unresponsive

A Lake City woman is facing charges after police say a 13-year-old girl was brought to the hospital unresponsive after drinking alcohol at her house.

Police said the 13-year-old's parents got a call from her boyfriend on Feb. 3. He told her parents she'd been consuming alcohol and needed to be picked up.

When her parents picked her up, the girl was unresponsive. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and police say it was determined she had a blood alcohol level of 0.371.

Investigators said the 13-year-old girl had been dropped off by her boyfriend at the home of 32-year-old Stephanie Havir on SW Wall Terrace.

Police said while at the home, other minors saw the 13-year-old consume two half-bottles of liquor.

In addition to the alcohol, officers said drug paraphernalia was found on the property and the minors living at the the home were unkempt.

The home was found to be in unsuitable living conditions, according to police.

The Department of Children and Families was contacted and tested Havir for illegal substances. Havir tested positive for marijuana, according to police.

Havir was arrested and charged with three counts of child neglect without bodily harm and one count
of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police.
