We have received numerous reports of what appeared to be a meteor in the sky over NE Florida around 6:50am today. And the American Meteor Society reports it received hundreds of similar reports from Jacksonville north into the Carolina’s.
Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says it appeared to him to be a meteor.
“It does not appear as though it made contact with the ground. That’s the second one in the last few days. Sometimes you will get these in bursts. They’re left over debris from generally the formation of the universe,” said Buresh.
