Putnam County man found with cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, meth, and Xanax

Kristopher James Wanton was driving on SR-21 in the Prince Road area, when police tried to pull him over for speeding.

Police say that 31-year-old Wanton sped up in an attempt to flee.

A deputy followed Wanton for about 10 minutes on Baden Powell Road near the Cue Lake area.

Wanton spun out in soft sand and his car stopped.

Wanton was taken into custody, and police found marijuana on him. Police searched the car and found crack cocaine, hydrocodone, methamphetamine, Xanax and other drug paraphernalia.

He was also driving on a suspended license.

Wanton was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail.  He is charged with three counts of possession of drugs, one count of possession of cocaine, possession marijuana, and possession of drug equipment, resisting an officer, and one moving traffic violation.
