Rape suspect deemed incompetent to stand trial

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One of three men charged in the Riverside rape investigation has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.

Rakeem Mitchner, 24, had a pretrial hearing Wednesday where a judge committed him to a mental hospital.

Officers had to forcibly remove him from court during a hearing in April.  He'll be back in court next February.

Martin King, Stanley Armitage and Mitchner are all accused of attacking a young woman as she rode her bike through Riverside in October 2009.

Police arrested Mitchner and Armitage in February and King in March.
