Police: Child left unsupervised, found covered in feces; Jacksonville woman arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Heather Young, 31, of Jacksonville was arrested Sunday on a child neglect charge after police say they were informed about a child at a home without supervision, according to a police report.

A concerned neighbor checked on the child inside a home and found the child in a highchair in the living room, covered in dry feces, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report stated.

The child was reportedly not wearing a diaper.

Police stated they also found feces in and around the highchair.

The neighbor also told police that Young has left the child home unsupervised before.

The home was described to have a "horrible odor" and the child was on the autism spectrum, according to the police report.

Young told police that she left the child with a babysitter, the arrest report stated.
