Report: Shots fired into Jacksonville home after 10-year-old shot

Shots were fired into a Jacksonville home Monday, 10 days after a 10-year-old boy was hit by gunfire at the same home, according to a police report.

Officers were called to Jessica Lane Monday morning at approximately 6:15 after multiple reports of gunshots in the area.

Action News Jax obtained audio from a neighbor’s surveillance camera. 16 gunshots could be heard, one after the other.

Officers found shell casings in the middle of the road and several bullet holes in a car and the front door of a home, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report.

Officers made contact with two teens and an adult inside the home.

A 20-year-old man told officers he woke up to gunfire but did not see anything when he looked outside the front window of the home.

A 10-year-old boy needed two surgeries after he was hit by gunfire 10 days ago while playing video games inside the same home on Jessica Lane.

Family said the boy, Elijah Williams, has limited function in his legs after a bullet went through his window and into his stomach on May 4.

Officers said the gunfire came from a car outside his home.

Family called for anyone with information about who shot up the home to come forward.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call JSO at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.
