Reported armed robbery at Waffle House in St. Johns County

Three men are on the run after St. Johns County deputies say the men robbed a Waffle House in St. Johns County at gunpoint.

In a 911 call made after the robbery, an employee of the Waffle House told the 911 operator that three of the suspects had guns.

When asked by the operator what the suspects took, the employee responded, "Everything they could get their hands on."

There were two employees at the Waffle House during the robbery. Neither was injured.

A victim told deputies that the men threatened them with a gun while they took the money and ran. Deputies say each man had a gun and wore a face mask but did not wear gloves.

"We're going through this store with a fine tooth comb in order to look for anything they may have been dropped, either prints, hair or any type of DNA that may have been transferred here in the store," Chuck Mulligan, with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, said.

Action News Jax reporter Elizabeth Pace has reached out to the restaurant's corporate office and neighboring businesses for surveillence video. She is waiting to hear back.

Deputies said criminals tend to target locations near the highway to flee faster, and this location is right near I-95.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
